31. Awareness Days
Awareness days happen all the time, and it’s important to use them to boost your relevancy. For example, if one of your campaigns is related to wellness, perhaps you can do something on stress awareness week.
32. Anniversaries
Notable anniversaries are a great time for PR work. Your company’s anniversaries and milestones are newsworthy and can help you tell your story of success.
33. Highlight Your Corporate Culture
You products and services are not all that your business is. Focus on your efforts to improve diversity in your company, or how you’re eco-friendly and use local products, Highlight what makes your business’ culture unique-then share it with the world.
34. Do Something Amazing for a Customer
Look for your most inspiring customers, and use them to create a story piece. How can you help them in a way that will be newsworthy? Perhaps you can help your customer get the honeymoon they always wanted, for example.
35. Reach Out to Your Customers
Keep regular communications with your customers. An emailing list is a great way to keep your customers informed of any announcements, events, or even simple greetings. Make sure you get their permission before including them, and don’t forget to make it easy to unsubscribe. Don’t clutter their inboxes with unnecessary information, otherwise they might find you more annoying than you’re worth.
36. Create ‘How To’ Tips
Everyone loves an expert opinion. Share your knowledge on specific subjects, and demonstrate that you know what you’re doing. Write tips that are useful to the average person and easy to understand. Remember: Simplify and condense.
37. Get a Wikipedia Page
Having a Wikipedia page is a great way to make your business seem more important and relevant. Be truthful, and link the page to your own website, as well as any relevant news articles.
38. LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a great way to connect with other businesses and make yourself appear more readily to potential customers. Be prepared to post regularly, and to help people contact you through the site.
39. Testimonials
Word of mouth is the best form of PR. What others say about you is more credible than what you have to say about yourself. Ask if it’s okay to post a testimonial. Customers voicing their passion about your business is a powerful image. Full-length customer case studies are great when relevant.
40. Get a Website
In the modern age, a good website is the cornerstone of a business. You want people to find you instantly, and a website can help with that. Make sure that it has a good UI, and that people can easily use the website with a mobile device.
41. Offer Exclusives
Offer exclusive stories to a particular outlet. This increases your tires with them, especially since exclusives are good for them, too. Try to research the journalists you would be pitching your story to, so that you can explain to them why you chose them and their outlet for this story.
42. Business Events
Attend and host every event that you can in order to increase brand awareness. This can help you reach out to new investors, partners, suppliers, and customers.
43. YouTube
YouTube is extremely popular. So long as you avoid breaking their community guidelines, and your video isn’t an outright advertisement, you can create a big following. Stories, especially dramatic stories, are a great way to build your brand on YouTube.
44. Start or Endorse a Campaign
You can give a cause for people to rally behind with a campaign- and people will rally behind you, as well. Include an element of fun, and don’t forget about more minor causes.
45. Influencers
Partnering with influencers is a great way to spread the word. Again, you want to avoid outright promotion- remember that testimonials are better. The influencer is trusted by their audience, and if they say they like your product, their audience is more likely to buy it.
46. Make Your Events Fun
The key to a great event is to get creative. Making things fun without spending a lot of money can be a challenge, but there are ways to do it. Contests for free merch, clowns, and face paint are always good ideas, and don’t forget the finger food.
